Usually thats a total loss on that car... suggest adding more duct tape as a possible solution... or try to drive in the rightmost lane so as to avoid caring about what is displayed by the device.
P.S. I saw some bolt on after market cromed mirrors down at my local auto parts store for less than 20 bucks.
