I have a machine made in Louisanna (I believe) that spins a mounted wheel & knurls off the black rubber. The company also sold a liquid colored rubber compound to really spiff up the finaly product. The machine has a varaible speed driven three cutter head with hardened brass or sintered brass cutters. Even has a seat!
I thought of selling it years ago but it is such a "Hell, I give up. What the !^%@$! is it?"
I called the Co, 10 years ago & they still sold their products. Most were sold to independant guys who also fixed windshield bull's eyes.
You put the car in neutral, jack up the car, roll in the machine, adjust the drive roller & cut away while seated, then coat with the liquid rubber. It took me 10 minutes after practice.
Its been collecting dust for a few years & now needs brushes.
Once I had a guy beliveing it was a portable one wheel dyno.
A local car club is interested in renting it so I better get it p to snuff.
