Hello,

The 10 Disk changer that you bought, does it have a Mercedes star on it, or does it have the name Becker and Silverstone on it? Becker sells an aftermarket version that was the same unit, but with a different cableing structure and different control protocols. It is not compatible with the Mercedes Becker head units. If your unit has the Mercedes Star on it, then it is the original Mercedes Silverstone and will work with your radio.

If it is the correct unit, you will need a cable from the dealer or some one like us. The trunk has the rear radio unit, which has the data cable and power harness. Some vehicles had the additional power "Y" harness and data jumper wires tied in place for later installs, but not all. The data cable will run in series when connected to the changer. The existing data cable that is plugged into the radio unit, is removed and plugged into the CD changer. A second short cable then plugs into the second jack on the CD changer and plugs back into the radio. Power is supplied via a "Y" adapter harness to both units.
