guys, you do realize that your radio has no protect circut, or an internal fuze, right?
That means if the speakers fail, they can take out the radio with them. I DOUBT that the oem headunit puts out more then 10 watts rms, MABEY 25 peak per channel... You do not need, OR WANT expensive speakers for them. Go to walmart, shopko, farm&fleet (insert other retail store here) and look at their car audio section. Find the cheapest speakers that fit, and buy them. IF there's some similerly priced speakers, buy the one with the HIGHEST sensitivity rating... That's what counts for low power speakers. You WILL NOT get much bass, but if that's not your goal, then you're fine.
Or, go to a car audio shop, and start talking to the guy at the counter... Tell him you want some speakers that get loud, off low power... Shouldnt have a problem hooking you up. If he doesnt have them, he should know what to get... A small tip might be a good thing, but w/e
Whenever I take door panals off a car that's more then 10 years old, I'll replace the speakers with some cheapys, just so I dont risk anything.
I'd replace yours, but whatever
