i have never heard of anybody fixing one any way other than removing the head and renewing the gasket.

but it might be possible to take a needle and inject a small amount of epoxy in the tear. i would want to try to force the oil out of the area being injected though. and i am not sure exactly how to do this. there would also be a danger if too much epoxy was injected and it blocked oil flow inside.

has anybody tried something like this?
