Plants are living creatures too. When you munch on a raw carrot, would it not scream out in pain in some form we can't see/hear?

Some trees in Africa have been shown to send out chemical "warnings" to other trees when an animal is foraging for leaves/fruit. The other trees can actually become poisonous to mammals after a short time. Some herds of Giraffes have learned to only eat trees upwind of their current tree when it becomes bitter.
