The engine suddenly went dead while at an intersection. It cranked but wouldn't restart. While waiting for my tow, I cranked it again and it started and ran smoothly, but only idled for a couple minutes before it suddenly cut out again. After that it wouldn't start at all.

Its now sitting at home in my driveway and I'm wondering if any of those symptoms sound familiar to someone before I start my own diagnosing.
