My pad came from an eBay seller, rnrn75. It was $62 plus $9 shipping. It consists of a 1/2 inch layer of foam covered with a thin layer of something that might be a plastic version of felt. There is a thick aluminum foil heat shield (about one square foot) for the turbocharger/exhaust area. It was cust to size and fits well.

I agree that you don't seem to get much for your money. All the suppliers seem to charge a similar amount and the quality of some is really poor.

I would ask you to check with a Mercedes dealer. Report back what they offer and the price.
