Is it necessary to do a complete rebuild? Could I just replace the front pump seal. IOW, is it one of those deals where I "might as well" or would a rebuild require a lot more time than just replacing the offending seal on these trannies?

I have (successfully) removed a few trannies, but it's been over 10 years.
