Well I would rather listen to the Byrds sing Mr Tambourine Man than Dylan sing it, so I see your point, and it's well taken, but I don't mind the singer performing his own songs - nothing bad about Dylan himself performing "subterranean homesick blues". It depends on which songs you afre referring to, I think

But...he is also going to be one of the most unpleasant/borderline nasty singers you 'd ever want to face in a concert. (He's a legend in his own time and a legend in his own mind) Only Sly & the Family Stone and a few others are more indifferent to/contemptuous of their audiences.

Dylan has been through some changes we would rather forget (Slow Train Coming, etc) but his early works, pre 1967, show him to be a musical genius of the first order whose fame in rock history is assured. He is truly one of the all time great rock legends
