Yes. Door Check is the correct name. I don't know if you have the same ones as my 98 C230. The ones on my car are metal. A couple of years later they switched to plastic. I tried greasing mine with lithium etc and nothing had any effect. I finally took them out and disassembled them and put some thick grease in them. It helped a little but some groaning came back. Basically it was a bad design. You can get new ones for fairly cheap ($30?) at the dealer but they are not painted if you care. Yours might be different than mine though. I remember a thread on this a couple of years ago.
