I have read a lot about the rack dampner, So think that is one thing wrong with my car. Check this out and tell me if I am correct please:

Rack pin all of the way in. Runs ok at full throttle (better some times than others), idles rough at times, has a dead spot in the acceleration, (this is where I can push the peddal a little and get verry little, or no response).

Is this what is wrong? Or is it the 85 CA emission crap on the IP? Can/how do I remove that stuff?
