If you haven't serviced your trans in the last 40-50K it May be a clogged filter but that would be an Awful lot of clutch material and I wouldn't feel to good about my transmission were that the case.

To fix the torn seal the box need to be torn down.

It sure seems that my newer to me '93 300D hadn't had the tranny serviced for for 50K+, everything else had been for some reason. Do you think that there could be any damage for not having it serviced that long?
