I fight hydraulic systems all day at work. Be sure not to overtighten (usually the first mistake, esp. with pipe threads) and use a good sealent. Teflon tape usually works great in situations like this. be sure you wrap going WITH the thread, as to not strip some of the tape off when screwing it in.
I can highly recomend Jomar seal - I love the stuff. I'm not sure where one can find it (it's a product of MI) but we get it across the street at the hydraulic shop.
Interesting enough, a cylinder we just had re-done (stripped shaft) is leaking, so much so we'll have to send it back, Luckelly the MB dealer is right next to the cylinder shop (MB of st. clare shores.) So I dont mind taking the drive (and getting caught in "traffic")
