it kindof reminds me of when nixon didnt request a recount in 1960 in a key race (illinois?). he said it would be too divisive on the country.

i always suspected that he did it because he knew the repubs had cheated as bad or worse than the dems and a recount would reveal that.

so perhaps they arent asking for many because they did cheat but just didnt buy enough votes to offset the groundswell of pissed off voters!

as for allen, i never had much use for him after the maccacca remark. i would have respected him a lot more if he had just admitted he knew he was insulting the guy and just said something like "of course i knew it was an insult...after what he said to me he had it coming".

now we can just sit back and see if we have given the dems an opportunity to make the country better or they will use it as just enough rope....to hang themselves.
