At RCA, the Zenith joke was:
1. the quality goes in.
2. The Zenith name goes on.
3. The quality gets taken back out.

Oh, and I have seen early RCA color tvs go for 25 years or so. Secret was to jam it in the corner and take the back off. None of the Tv makers could really deal with the heat. Keep them cool and they run forever.
