And it is not a dumb question, and this is the right place to ask it.

You are correct that there is a huge discrepancy in asking prices. In the SL market, you will find poor cars at 10K and good (or at least honestly described) cars at 7K. The trick is know the difference and to avoid paying a primo price for a good, average, or (shudder) poor car. As a seller, about all you risk by asking too much is looking uninformed and paying for another ad.

All of these cars are somewhat of a crapshoot since they are well beyond their original design horizon. But there are known problems (electronics, suspension, rust) that you will discover if you browse this forum

It sounds like you have a good car on your hands. Driive it for a while and enjoy it! And feel free to ask questions here.
