the spring pads are "numbered" if you will, by little nubs/bumps. You will first need to located said bumps and count how many you have. Depending on how many you have, there is a remote possibility, that you may have to actually lower the PS side (although I doubt it). Do a search for spring pads - I am sure several of the threads mention how many bumps there are (I think it's three, but I am not completely sure).
