The generic scanners (the affordable variety) will not pull the trans codes.

If you have 3rd gear and higher you are not in limp home mode.

You've told us your engine type but not the chassis. Is it a E class W210? If so, it should have the 722.6xx trans which requires synthetic fluid which it sounds as if you got as it came from MB.

The 722.6xx is very particular about its fill level. Best thing to do is to have it scanned with MB scanner to confirm fluid is at 80C and to then confirm proper fill level. The second best measurement is using an Infrared thermo on the trans pan. Last choice is driving around a few miles to heat it up. You live where it is cold so that choice should be avoided.

Note this is not coolant temp, but trans temp.
