Read the owner's manual to get a clear owner on what fluids to use, and obey the instructions, the coolant, for example is supposed to be compatible with the radiator, if you use the wrong one, the chemicals in it could corrode the radiator in certain cases. Use Mercedes Benz coolant only, and don't be quick to put Dexron in the automatic transmission, uwse what the factory recommends, probably a certain kind of fluid is needed if the car has a limited slip differential.
The big price, to get to power steering pulley replaced, was high, everyone on Mercedesshop said the W140 600 repair cost was high, and as you can see, for repairs it really is. The 600SEL was the flagship, and top of the line for Mercedes Benz, of all its models, it cost over $100,000, so you shouldn't be surprised to find it costs more to fix than a Ford Focus.
The brake fluid flush and bleed is a fairly straightforward job, a good Mercedes Benz dealer or an independent Mercedes shop should be able to do that for you. Have the look at the power steering fluid pump, while they are at it, and top it off with Mercedes Benz recommended fluid if needed, and have hydraulic self leveling suspension checked too, to be sure it is OK
Looks like so far you have a good car, it's good that you are taking good care of it.
Owning a 12 cylinder v8 Mercedes is a very special privilege, very few people have that pleasure, I can only imagine the feeling of power and satisfaction you must get when you drive that car out on the highway. You probably will be spoiled for life.
