There is just something about a 1911, the way it looks, the way it feels in your hand. I will second the Commander suggestion, mine is cambered for 38 Super and is just a joy to shoot. Shot the Springfield "Operator" model a few weeks ago, nice factory trigger, and it did hit what I was looking at....it kinda flung a cravin' on me!!

I HATE GLOCKS! They are just ugly plastic crap to me. Now, having said that and PO'ed all the Glock guys, let me also say this...even though I hate them, every one I have ever picked up actually felt good in my hand and shot good too!

The best advice so far, go shoot a bunch of different pistols. Then buy the one YOU like the best.
