The above point about the reflector not being designed for the HID I think is the limitation - you will be blinding oncoming drivers left and right. I had an Audi S4 with HIDs, the heat generated was much less than my 85w halogen Cibies - i had read before that it was the equivalent of a 35 watt bulb.
