Asian Chinese have a very different system of finance than Black, Hispanic, or White folk. They also have a strong communal network of support and a strange hierarchal system of unwritten rules. Just had a student write a paper on Confucius and Communism. She was attempting to counter the argument that Confucius was a sage of the reactionary classes. The student was arguing that the social order of Confucianism was compatible with Communism.
i think it would be interesting to do a comparison of the role of Protestantism in the rise of capitalism in Europe and the role of Confucianism in the current move to capitalism in China.
