I talked to an old diesel gen set mechanic today. He told me a story of his good friend/co-worker getting killed by a runaway diesel.
He told me a runaway diesel launched a connecting rod thru his friends stomach and exited at the base of his neck on his back.
He said they found the rod piece stuck in the concret wall behind him.
Told me to ALWAYS stand to the end of the crank when its running.
