I have a Pioneer HU which has the Mosfet built into it. Printed on the HU is "MOSfet 45X4". Is this Mosfet some sort of amplifier? Would this "45X4 MOSfet power" be the same as having a 4 channel 45x4 amplifier in the car? Or would i be wasting my money to buy a new seperate amp? TIA

The Japanese tout MOSFET transistors in all their amplifiers because they are cheap to produce. If you had an opportunity to compare the sound of an American amplifier against a Japanese one you would understand why all American made high end home audio and better car audio use BIPOLAR transistors in their output stages. Mosfets are ok for pre driver but not the best sound as output transistors.
