Fuel line - plain rubber okay?
All;
Been chasing mediocre performance in my california-spec 1985 300TD, and have identified and corrected a leaking primer pump earlier today (replaced the old white pump with the Bosch upgrade). Previously I replaced primary and secondary fuel filters.
Following today's primer pump replacement, I noticed I was getting air bubbles into the primary filter.
Put the car up an ramps, and could immediately see fuel leaking from the supply line back at the fuel tank.
I can readily see that these "soft" lines are rubber encased in a braid. Not certain that Advance Auto or AutoZone will have lines like this, can I use plain rubber fuel line to replace the leaking lines? I would think they are braided for a reason, but perhaps not?
Anyone know right off with the appropriate ID is?
Thanks in advance,
Dave
