I recently decided to replace all brake discs and pads, and thought I'd replace the seriously neglected emergency brake pads as well. The emergency brake has more or less not been used in nearly three years, which is what I think is causing me trouble.

The problem is that the rear discs are to "big" to cover the emergency brake now! I think that the wires leading out to each brake might be damaged after all this time, hence does it not release fully. Any input?

It seems as though the emergency brake bands just aren't fully retracted..
