I NEVER said it wouldn't work.
What I did say is that "BOSCH says" you will have long term problems as that sensor isn't designed for that application.
AND I do see many catalyst failures related to those cars running that sensor!
AS you pointed out it is ALL about $$$$$$. Some folks are making their share on those parts.
