ACK NO!! DONT DO THIS !

The main speaker gets full range.... what that capacitor for, is, yes, a high pass filter at 1.1 - 1.2K.... for the TWEETER. Look in the middle of the speaker, and its a coaxial device with a tweeter in there.

1.2K is far too high of a crossover point for just a 4in driver, it must be for the little tweeter in there.

Hate to say it bud, but your tweets are probably roasted.
