i am not afraid to eat it but the concerns about collapsing food supplies seems like a valid one.
we already suffer from disease spreading too easily because of our huge fields of all one crop and so forth.
i can't see it as a big advantage.
a few years ago there was a fellow in england (?) who had a holstein cow that produced a huge amount of milk. 20 or 30% more than most. so they were all excited to clone her and increase the milk supply by this huge amount. then one day she dropped dead, at a young age for a cow. heart attack maybe i cannot remember. sometimes there are good reasons that animals and even humans don't stand out hugely.
