Hey, 240Dog...I just put a pair of pliers onto the shaft, and another on the knob. Turns out it does just unscrew off the shaft. Guess I know now.

In the meantime, I have Frankensteined a $2.50 generic flasher into the circuit, so now I have turn signals at least. I'm gonna order the official part ASAP.
