If I'm not mistaken, Purolator has been proven to be junk. Either buy the Mann or Hengst filters that you will find here for sale, OR try the Napa filter. I heard good things about it, and when I went to Napa, I bought one. Seemed to be a very good quality filter for $6 retail. In your car dino oil is fine. If you go to syn, definitely go 15w50 M1. I wouldn't even bother until you fix all the leaks. Plenty of people have gotten plenty of miles on Rotella. I like syn (had been using 15w50, now using MBs own 5w40) because my head gasket was don at 80k. I figured it was a great opportunity to use the best oil since I have no leaks, and every seal is tight and my motor was just barely broken in at 80k
