Either MB is dramatically underrating their diesel cars, or they are fudging numbers. I find it hard to believe an E350 with 60 hp more, and being a lighter car, be almost identically as quick as the CDI both to 60 mph and the quarter mile despite the massive deficit.

According to MB CDI's of the past, normal acceleration was 0-60 mph in 7.5 - 8 seconds for a 200 hp I6 CDI (first generation). Now a 208 hp CDI can chop a second and a half off with just 10 more hp, more curb weight, and that 7 speed transmission which is less effective at aiding performance for a high torque engine.
