My 93 300E 2.8 is supposed to come equipped for a cell phone -- including a hands-free setup. I recently bought a Motorola StarTac phone and would like to connect it into the existing system.

I've been told that, with the factory cell phone kit, the cell phone silences the (factory) radio and uses the existing speakers along with a mic mounted in the high center console (next to the sunroof switch). Does anyone know if this is correct?

Secondly, does anyone know if and where a wiring harness can be purchased that will allow connection of the Mercedes system to a generic or Motorola phone?
