Its possible if you really want to do that.
I would suggest you get a hi-lo convertor(what this does is to make your line level output to preamp output)available at car audio stores and add a amp and a subwoofer to the amplifier which will give you some bass.You will need to get an enclosure for the sub and port it inside the main passenger area as well.
However this has a downside to it too and that is that depending on how good an amplifier you buy it may induce some noise.
Given the quality of MB radios i would really change it but if you must keep this is a good compromise.
I would also change those factory speakers while you upgrading.
