I have the same growling in my 89 190 2.6 and the sound is coming from the fuel pump area. Car will crank and run fine for approx. 5 seconds and then the engine shuts down. It will immediately crank again and run for 5 seconds then it shuts down again, over and over and over. It doesn't just run out of gas and cut off, it shuts down immediately. This just happened yesterday, hopefully I will find out more by the weekend when I can get to it. Had to trailer it home. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I get started. Thanks
