Performance diesels are great and very desirable. Ask the Duramax guyz... The duramax truck are more powerfull than the gassers and they are hghly desirable.

Same can be expected of cars. If VW can produce an affordable fast diesel, it will be very desirable.

And 170hp aint that much power. Need I remind you guyz that most new economy cars make about that much or maybe a little bit less.

It's called boost, and lots of it. Turbos with variable vanes, intercoolers HIGH pressure direct injection systems etc...
