You can apply pressure to open the doors. I found this out when I locked myself out too. I was stuck the the parking lot and my driver's side door lock tumbler broke so the key just turned from side to side. The passenger's side on this car was broken when I got it and I have not fixed it yet. I opened the trunk, which still worked, pulled out the vacuum lines, and opened the car.

I learned this when testing my vacuum system a while back- there are two lines, a lock line and an unlock line. The lock line can be used for both unlocking and locking. If you apply vacuum to the lock line, the car locks. If you apply pressure to the lock line, you unlock the car. I was able to use mouth-to-hose on my vacuum system to get it unlocked, as I don't have a vacuum pump (yet). If you just apply pressure to the locking line the car will open right up.
