Clerks are given a set of rules to which little or no explanation is given to them on why these rules are in place.
Recently, I had a fraudulent charge show up on my Visa Check Card. I caught it immediately, card cancelled, yada yada. Later that week I went to deposit a check into my account. No cash, just a straight deposit. The teller asked me for ID - which (for what ever reason) just did not have on me. She stated my account had been flagged. She refused to make deposit and I had to get wifey to come inside and make the deposit.
I would assume there are some sick people out there picking up deposit slips and putting money into other peoples accounts to mess them up. LOL
