NO. Not button. Nowhere on the actual trunk lid. On the metal just above the liscense plate. Where the lock mechanism is. Iv'e done it on my W123's a few times. Takes an awful big hammer. The blow is enough to move the mechanism enough to let go of the trunk lid. Someone else pulling up on the trunk helps alot too.

I have done this with my cars, bang away at yours at your own risk.
