if you were closer, you could use the SDL. Still makes a diesel noise though.
I think I used family's '62 Ford G500 wagon for prom. But my cousin let me borrow his '69 Camaro 396-325 for the Christmas dance. (he was as crazy as I was). Lotta guys back then just cleaned the heck out of their regular car.
Few years ago, daughter and a group of her friends talked the school into letting them borrow one of the schools 15 passenger buses. I had to drive it (I'm on the school insurance anyway). Scrubbed the heck out of it and they decorated it and I put up Christmas twinkle lights running on a 12volt inverter. Really looked pretty good. And seven (relieved) sets of parents knew how they kids were getting to and from. Go in with a few buddies and rent a stretch limo if need be. (driver will have a no-puking rule).
