Haven't heard about faulty coil before I had like 20+ year old cars at home with original coils and running around starting on first try....Mind you the car in question is a Toyota.

care to post a pic of maybe the coil opened up??

Sorry the OVP didn't help - hope you didn't change out a German unit, though. If it's Austrian unit then you just bought extra peace of mind.... I suppose?
