Since I'll be driving my '67 250SE Cabrio to Cincinnati this week, I thought I'd just put a quick post up about what things to have with you and what checks to make before any long road trip...

What to pack:

1. Combination wrench set 10-19mm
2. 3/8" ratchet and socket (10-19mm) set
3. At least four quarts of oil
4. At least two quarts of tranny fluid
5. Gallon of water or 50/50 ethylene glycol
6. Breaker bar and deep 17mm socket for lug bolts
7. Tire gauge
8. Service manual (usually a Haynes or Chiltons will do)
9. Cellular phone
10. A couple spare bulbs
11. Spare drive belt set

Things to check before leaving the homestead:

1. Oil level
2. Trans fluid level
3. Air filter element
4. Brake fluid level
5. Windshield washer fluid level
6. Coolant level
7. Tire pressures
8. Spare tire pressure
9. Tool kit with jack and lug wrench
10. Light bulbs
11. Drive belts
12. Condition of tires (and spare)

Hope this checklist will be of some help to those of you who like to venture out on the open road in your classic! BTW, my spares kit is fully loaded--just in case!!
