This time of year use canola oil. It stays liquid down to 0F. Better yet, use some biodiesel made from canola oil. It is good down to -14F.

I looked at a 1987 300D two weeks ago. The owner asked why mine was so much quieter than his. I was running about 50% biodiesel. (To give the biodiesel even more credit, I don't have the hood pad installed. He did, and my car was still much quieter than his.)
