Well for the sake of the archives, the CEL was on because of "incorrect purge flow" p0441 EVAP system

It could be that the gas cap was off when the engine was started, or a vac line came off temporarily while the engine was on, or the purge valve is dingy.

Anyway it was read and reset with a diagnostic computer.

The car operates fine and the light has not gone back on.

The purge valve is an easy replacemnt anyway, if needed.
