I have a 1985 380SL that has an original steering wheel which I'd like to replace with a wooden Nardi wheel.

What is the proper way to uninstall the steering wheel?

Also, I was advised that some of these later SLs have an airbag system in the steering wheel, however the manual states that you only have an airbag if the steering wheel boss has SRS on it; mine doesn't. As well, the SRS light in the dash doesn't light up when the car starts so I suspect it doesn't have an airbag?
