I should have completed my thought. Back when Nixon resigned, a lot of people were relieved that the SOB was out of office. But a lot of other people were concerned that the system had failed. Still others viewed Nixon's resignation as proof that the system worked well. On and on it went. When I read the speech that never was, I began musing about how we couldn't know then what we know now, and we still probably don't know now what we'll know 50 years from now.
I am reconciled to your position from its rising.. I see the resignation as patriotic and best considered... from where my sun now stands. And I agree the history will judge us better than we... but it's a hard to swallow that such a small aside on a three day old thread would constitute a hijacking so I'm gonna have to go against you on that idea.
