The 91SD has over 490,000 on the clock. I haven't driven the car in 6 months and forgot about what the actual mileage was. I took a picture (below) of the odometer a couple months back and it was over 485K)
The engine in the '91 was rebuilt around 225k (short block I believe) It wasn't rebuilt for the "rod-bender" problem either (which most experience problems with within the first 125k miles if I can recall) Other than that it still has the original engine. Hard to believe I know. It's my dad's car who has been a Mercedes independent mechanic for the past 25 years and is now working at the local Benz dealership. FYI: His newest addition to our Mercedes family is a '94 S500 Coupe
Lots of the electronics give me the willies but I know that my dad can keep it running like new for many years to come (only 50,000 miles on it currently).
If you keep these cars maintained properly they'll pretty much run forever.
