You aim the washer nozzles by inserting a pin of some type (can't remember if a paperclip will fit) into the spray nozzles and then use the pin to aim the nozzles. In your case, it sounds like you'd insert the pin, then bend the nozzles down slightly. Test, then re-adjust.
