That really happens, as I said (above). "Screen test", "Ride in the Jail elevator", "fell down the stairs on the way to the booking room" etc
The cops know all too well the workings of the criminal justice system,
and how the loopholes can get misused. A little rough justice sometimes gets meted out, especially if the cops think it might be the only chance for it.
This guy would be in REAL trouble if he had the misfortune to elect to rob a member of a COP's family. That would be a real mistake
